“1 Nation Below A Groove” was a 1978 song by Funkadelic, the title track from their album “One Nation Under A Groove”. The lyrics refer to dancing as a way to freedom, even though the ‘dancing’ could be effortlessly witnessed as a metaphor of breaking boundaries, keeping with the album’s theme. Compared to Funkadelic’s earlier output, which was characterized by sound normal for rock music, this song had a sound much more typical for dance music. “One Nation Underneath A Groove” was released as a single and reached thirty-a single on the Billboard Club Play Singles chart. It has endured as a dance funk classic and is almost certainly Funkadelic’s most extensively-identified song. “1 Nation Beneath A Groove” peaked at number twenty-eight on the Hot 100 and reached quantity 1 on the Billboard Soul chart for 6 weeks, the longest of any quantity a single single released in 1978. The song is incorporated in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s list of 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll. It is also ranked #474 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of The 500 Best Songs of All Time. “1 Nation Under A Groove” was the tenth studio album by American funk and rock band Funkadelic, released in September 1978 on Warner Brothers Records. Recording sessions took location at United Sound Studio in Detroit, Michigan, with a single song recorded live on April 15, 1978 at the Monroe Civic Center in Monroe, Louisiana. The album was the very first album by the George Clinton-led ensemble to include keyboardist and regular songwriter Walter ‘Junie’ Morrison

    @DakotaRTinTX what i was recalling was how kiss did the dress up and the painted faces and they made tons of money. i also remember how the osmonds did the same thing by mimicking the Jackson 5 and made a fortune. maybe i am wrong but then maybe i am right.
